Description

Abyssinian/Eritrean Leather Shield, Circa 19th Century. 17-inches in diameter, likely made of Hippo hide. A heavy leather shield with the front decorated with embossing and patterning to the hide surface with a thick rolled rim. The reverse has a hide hand grip, and slings, the interior decorated with embossed red leather.

Condition: Very good. The interior lining is loose in sections.
