Abraham Lincoln: Nicolay and Hay's Multi-Volume Biography. One of the standard and most definitive biographies of Lincoln is Nicolay and Hay's "Abraham Lincoln: A History". The 12-volume work was years in the making and was published by the Century Company of New York in 1890. The authors were, of course, Lincoln's personal secretaries from 1860 until his assassination in 1865. These deluxe volumes have gilt edges, ribbed, gilt-stamped spines, marbled boards and endpapers, half-morocco binding, leather corners, etc. This is a complete set in excellent condition with just minor shelf wear. Each volume has acetate covers for ease of handling and protection. It is truly a beautiful set.Auction Info
