Adams & Jefferson: Jugate Memorial Silk Ribbon. 2" x 5" silk ribbon commemorating the near-simultaneous deaths of Founding Fathers John Adams and Thomas Jefferson on the 50th anniversary of the announcement of the Declaration of Independence. The caption on the bottom reads: "Together they labored for our country, together they have gone to meet their reward." At opposite ends of the political spectrum, the two were not on speaking terms for many years, but finally reconciled towards the ends of their lives.
