Illustrations by James Greig. Illustrated wrappers in red and black. Front wrapper is detached, rear wrapper is missing. Last leaf has approximately one-quarter of the vertical page torn away, affecting text on pages 63 and 64; this leaf also has a hole, obscuring text on page 63. Paper toned with some minor foxing throughout. Rubber stamped name to front wrapper and title page. Good to very good.

"Issued as a Supplement to the Windsor Magazine, Xmas, 1895." A reprint of Doyle's first Sherlock Holmes novel, this edition is the first to be illustrated by James Greig. Scarce.
