Octavo. [vi], 264 pages. With original wrappers, six plates in two states, and large folding map of the palace grounds inserted throughout. Sumptuously bound by Dupré in contemporary full blue levant morocco, gilt central armorial motif on boards, spine stamped and lettered in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, gilt board edges and turn-ins, gilt brown morocco doublures, brown silk liners, top edge gilt, slipcase. Spine a bit dull, some rubbing to spine. With bookplate of French politician Paul Aubry and two bookplates of Robert Marceau. Overall, a fine and pleasing copy of this history of the palace at Versailles.
