Jésuites: sur la Morale & la Politique de ces Peres; Traduites en Latin par Guillaume Wendrock theologien de Saltzbourg. En Espagnol par les Sr Gratien Cordero, de Burgos. Et en Italien par le Sr. Cosimo Brunetti, Gentil-Homme Florentin. Cologne: Balthasar Winfelt, 1684.Octavo. [xl], 613 pages. Text in French, Latin, Spanish, and Italian.
Sumptuous full red leather with titles and rules in gilt. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Minor wear to boards. Corners rubbed. Spine somewhat dull. French ink inscription to front blank. Three bookplates to front endpapers, one being from the Syston Park Library of Sir John Hayford Thorold. The other two bookplates show that this copy was once owned by famed Bloomsbury Group writer Lytton Strachey and his lover Roger Senhouse. A very good copy.
