A Gorgeous Hand-Executed Persian Manuscript
[Ferdowski]. Nineteenth-Century Illuminated Manuscript of the Persian Epic, Shahnameh. [N.p., n.d., ca. 1800s].Octavo. 388 pages. With sixty-four hand-colored illustrations in the text, heightened in gold. Text in Farsi, bordered on each page in gold.
Attractively bound in hand-painted boards with hand-painted portraits on the inner covers. Boards glazed. Each gathering is tied together with thin string at the bottom corners. Boards detached. Binding heavily worn and shaken, with separation of the spine. Scattered spotting throughout. Good condition.
