edition with Thomas Norton's translation from the original Latin.
Folio. Approximately 10.75 x 7.25 inches. [10], 502, [25] fols.
Title-page in facsimile. Bound in contemporary mottled calf,
paneled in blind. Rebacked to style in modern brown calf, burgundy
gilt morocco lettering label, new endleaves. Some wear to binding,
text toned and soiled, first two leaves with repair and
restoration, some early leaves with damage and/or repair near
gutters, fol. 485 with a tape repair near the margin. Ink notations
throughout. A very good copy of this book.

It is the most important doctrinal work of the Reformation as a whole and provided a comprehensive theological system rivaling those of the Middle Ages".
