Frontispieces in two states (frontispiece in Volume I is signed by the artist, C. E. Walmsley, and in the final volume, there are two separate frontispieces instead of being in two states), and illustrated throughout with full-page plates. Handsomely bound by the publisher in contemporary three-quarter brown levant morocco over marbled boards, spines tooled, ruled and lettered in compartments, five raised bands, top edge gilt, others uncut, marbled endleaves. Spines lightly and uniformly sunned, minor rubbing. A fine set.
