Inscribed by the author on the title-page: "Dorme a Mr Rondeau / H Beraldi[underlined]." Approximately 10.25 x 7 inches. Quarto. [xiv], [280] pages. With engraved frontispiece and forty-one inserted plates of bindings (twelve of which are lithographed in full color on India paper, and the remainder are tinted). Beautifully bound by Taffin in contemporary full red levant morocco, spine lettered in gilt, gilt board edges and turn-ins, marbled endleaves. Spine slightly sunned and rubbed, a few soil marks to spine and rear panel, very mild wear to edges and front turn-in. Previous owner's leather or handmade-paper bookplates. A handsome, fine copy.
