First edition. Two octavo volumes. [2], iv, [v]-vii, [1], [20], 467; [2], 558 pages. Large folding map: "Map for the Interior Travels Through America, delineating the March of the Army." Six engraved plates, of which five are folding.

Contemporary speckled calf, smooth spines with titles stamped in gilt on morocco spine labels. Front board detached from Volume I. Joints tender on both volumes and reinforced with glue. Contemporary owner's signature in each volume. Contents clean and bright, textblocks trimmed but tight. Worthy of professional conservation; internally fine.

Lieutenant Anburey served with General Burgoyne, and his letters describe the campaign and his captivity in American hands. The book has several interesting illustrations including facsimiles of American currency and an Indian with dripping scalp lock.
