Description
Victoria, Queen of Great Britain, Document Signed, "Victoria R." One page (front and verso), partially printed, 13.75" x 9.5", St. James, London, October 4, 1856. The document is a commission naming Samuel Charles de Montenach Pritchard, Gentleman, as an ensign in the Fifty-Fifth [Westmoreland] Regiment of Foot. The document is countersigned by Henry Pelham-Clinton, 5th Duke of Newcastle-under-Lyne. The document has folds, soiling, chipping along the edges, and a stamp from a previous collection on the verso. The document retains the original paper and red wax embossed seal.Auction Info
