Description

Thomas Jefferson and James Madison Land Grant Signed. One partly-printed vellum sheet, 11.25" x 10", "city of Washington," June 15, 1803, granting Lewis Booker, "a Captain Lieutenant in the late army of the United States," two one-hundred acre tracts of land along the Ohio River. According to the hand-drawn and hand-colored map on the verso, one of Booker's tracts bordered the "Indian Boundary Line." This document is framed and matted to an overall size of 16.25" x 15". With slightly damaged blind-embossed paper seal in lower left corner. Minor damage to the vellum around the seal. With folds and a small pin hole in the center of the document. The signatures and handwritten text have slightly faded.
