*16 Gauge Hooten & Jones Boxlock Ejector Double Barrel Shotgun. Serial no. 8613. 16 gauge. 27-inch barrels with smooth concave rib with extension. Casehardened boxlock treble grip action engraved with fine foliate scroll and maker's name in a banner. Automatic safety. Ejectors. Checkered straight grip stock of well-figured walnut. Stock with 3/4-inch extension with engraved heel and toe plates. Vacant nickel silver oval. Checkered splinter fore-end with Anson-style release.Data: Barrel Dimensions: Bores: 0.660/0.666 inches. Chokes: 0.002/0.008 inches (Cylinder/Improved Cylinder). Chambers: 2 3/4 inches. Minimum wall thickness: 0.029 inches. Proof: Birmingham, Nitro Reproof, 17/1, 16, 1 1/16, 2 3/4. Stock Dimensions: Pull: 14 1/2 inches. Drop at comb: 1 5/8 inches. Drop at heel: 2 1/4 inches. Cast-off: 1/8 inch. Weight: 5 pounds, 10 ounces.
Condition: Fine, as partially redone. Barrels show 98-99% reblued finish. Excellent bright bores. Action shows 30-40% muted case colors. Stock shows a recoated finish with numerous light marks and a few nicks.
