Description
Colt Lightning Small Frame Slide Action Rifle AKA Colt Lightning Magazine Rifle (CLMR). Serial no. 86837, .22 caliber, 24-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Blued finish. Smooth walnut stock and checkered fore-end. Half magazine. Checkered hard rubber buttplate. Manufactured in 1904. From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg.Condition: Fair. Retaining traces of original finish, the balance a brownish grey age patina with scattered wear and light pitting. Wood showing dents, scuffs and bruising. Noticeable crack all the way through underside of fore-end. Large rubber loss to bottom of buttplate. Action is very tight. Dark bore.
