Description

Group of Three Civil War Artillery Projectiles. A group of three relic condition 3.61" 20 Pd. Delafield shells, invented by Col. Richard Delafield for the State of New York in the Fall of 1862. Both the shells and guns were subsequently delivered to the State of New York. The base of the shell has five raised flanges that would fit the Delafield rifling. These would have used a zinc Parrot fuze plug. There have been no battlefield recoveries of this shell, and these were likely recovered from a New York State range. All good sound untouched relic condition.
