Description
Winchester Model 1873 Third Model Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine. Serial no. 143417, .44-40 caliber, 20-inch round barrel with pedestal front sight and ladder type rear sight. Blued finish. Saddle ring. Case-hardened hammer, lever and lever retainer button. Varnished walnut stock with cleaning rod reservoir in butt. Carbine style butt. Condition: Excellent as professionally refinished. Retaining approximately 85-90% of a high quality early reblued finish, the left side with finely frosted frame; barrel and magazine with scattered light patches of surface spotting; the barrel address showing wear under finish and front barrel band showing wear to relief edges. Vibrant color remaining on hammer and lever. Wood with light wear and marks. Action excellent. No cleaning rod present in reservoir. Bright bore.Auction Info
