Serial no. 226343L, .31 percussion caliber, 5-inch octagonal barrel with brass bead front sight. Address reads: ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S.AMERICA. Blued and case-hardened finish. Stagecoach holdup scene roll-stamped on cylinder. Brass backstrap and triggerguard. Left side of frame marked: COLT'S/PATENT. Forward trigger bow with inspector's numeral 6. Back of trigger guard marked: 31 CAL. Property from the Estate of John R. Eckel, Sr.

Condition: Good. Traces of original blue only in protected areas. The balance a mostly smooth plum-brown patina. Moderate to heavy wear to cylinder. Scene partially visible. Marred frame screws. Wedge screw a replacement. Drag line on cylinder. Mellow mustard color to brass. Grips are fine with light handling wear. Action functions but is a little sticky.
