Dwight Eisenhower: Signed First Edition of The Inauguration of Alvin Duke Chandler as Twenty-Second President of the College of William and Mary in Virginia. (Richmond, Virginia: William Byrd Press, Inc., nd [1953]), first edition, 87 pages, gray cloth boards with gilt lettering on front board, 8vo (5" x 8"), housed in original issue marbled paper slipcase with title card pasted down, and further protected by a later custom quarter leather slipcase with gilt spine lettering, five raised spine bands, and marbled boards. Signed "Dwight D. Eisenhower" on page 60 on the title page of the subsequent "Address of the President of the United States" that follows the inauguration proceedings. This extremely rare book was signed by Ike just four months after his own inauguration as president of the United States. An original photo of Eisenhower at the inauguration is glued in to the rear pastedown. The book is in about fine condition, with two small tears at the head of the spine.
