Description
Two Space Flown and Signed Flags Flown into space during the joint efforts of Soyuz TM-2 and Soyuz 39, respectively, are small (approximately 5" x 7") flags of the United States and the former USSR. The US flag has been signed by astronaut Thalgard and cosmonaut Dezhurov and Strekalov. The USSR flag was signed by cosmonaut Dzhanibekov and Gurracgcha (of Mongolia). Several flags were taken on each flight, then signed as gifts for dignitaries and "VIP's". Uncommon and fascinating, these little gems have been out in space...and can end up in your home.
