First American edition, translated by Louis Mercier and Eleanor E. King. Octavo. viii, 323, [3] pages. With frontispiece and 79 full page illustrations. Publisher's pictorial green cloth, front and spine lettered in gilt and decorated in gilt and black; all edges trimmed, brown coated endpapers. Spine moderately cocked, edges bumped and frayed with boards visible, head of spine torn and frayed, tail of spine torn with losses, binding moderately scuffed with some minor staining. Endpapers scratched and torn with some moderate losses. Slight toning and some thumb soiling throughout, minor foxing, some minor chipping to pages, but text generally clean. Still a good copy. All proceeds to benefit educational programs at The Bryan Museum.
