Description

M1872 or Later U. S. Army Kepi, approximately size 6 3/4, originally dark blue wool (now faded to a greyish green color), brown oil cloth liner, leather chin strap with brass buckle, gilt eagle staff side buttons, flat visor, affixed with 7th Cavalry, Co. "C" insignia. A remarkably sound late nineteenth century kepi free of the mothing usually associated with such items. Worn leather elements, tight stitching. Cannot guarantee that the insignia is original to the kepi.
