Description
M1872 or Later U. S. Army Kepi, approximately size 6 3/4, originally dark blue wool (now faded to a greyish green color), brown oil cloth liner, leather chin strap with brass buckle, gilt eagle staff side buttons, flat visor, affixed with 7th Cavalry, Co. "C" insignia. A remarkably sound late nineteenth century kepi free of the mothing usually associated with such items. Worn leather elements, tight stitching. Cannot guarantee that the insignia is original to the kepi.Auction Info
