Description
Martin Van Buren Free Frank and Signature. Two items. First, a very desirable envelope (cut open with wax seal still intact) signed in the upper right "Free M Van Buren". It is addressed to a Mr. Bancroft in Boston and postmarked January 8, Washington City, D.C. On the verso of the address panel, Van Buren has written "With the Presidents Kind regards". The second item is a clipped signature, 3.5" x 1", signed "M Van Buren", lightly mounted into a presentation folder. Both are in very good condition; the free frank has several very tiny pinholes at the top, two of which affect the signature, noted for accuracy. From the Henry E. Luhrs Collection.
