George Washington. The Writings of George Washington: Being his Correspondence, Addresses, Messages, and Other Papers, Official and Private, Selected and Published from the original Manuscripts; with a Life of the Author, Notes, and Illustrations. By Jared Sparks. Boston: Ferdinand Andrews, 1838 and 1839. Later printing, incomplete set, being only 8 volumes (including two examples of Vol. VI) of what is typically at least a 12 volume set. Full contemporary calf, with wear and water damage. Internal soiling and dampstaining, and evidence of past mold. Foxing and browning. Altogether a poor set, and incomplete.
