Description
"EXHIBITS" - THE WANNABE'S. With success comes intensified competition. Typifying the notion is this group of 54 different arcade cards from the 1940's. They're fashioned exactly like Exhibits - dimensionally, and in format - but nowhere do we find the credit, "Exhibit." This collection is comprised of 18 different boxers and 36 different entertainers. (With a few duplications, there are a total of 60 cards here.) The condition of the boxing cards deviates little from EX, and with the exception of Henry Armstrong and Bob Montgomery, most are unfamiliar names. Some of the entertainer cards indicate their maker as "I.M.R." while a few others are Mutoscope. Nearly all of these are EX and stronger. Most are major stars of the '40's-'50's and include Jimmy Stewart, Spencer Tracy, Gene Autry, and one of our favorites, W. C. Fields.
