W&C Scott Hammerless Double Barrel Shotgun. 12 Gauge Serial no. 28275, 12 gauge. 30-inch Damascus barrels. Rib marked, "W & C Scott & Son. Makers and Patentees 10Ct Castle Street Regent Circus London." Casehardened back action sidelock with pull rod cocking rods. Fine foliate scroll with 50% coverage. Extractor. Auto safety. Crystal cocking indicators. Checkered half pistolgrip stock with round knob of figured walnut. Checkered horn buttplate. Checkered fore-end with Scott extended release. Data: Barrel dimensions: Bores: 0.735/0.735 inches. Chokes: 0.023/0.028 inches. (Modified/Improved Modified). Chambers: 3 inch. Proof: Birmingham, Black Powder, Not for Ball. (Pre 1887). Note: Gun is out of proof due to lengthened chambers. Gun is deemed unsafe to fire. Stock dimensions: Pull: 14 1/8 inches. Drop at comb: 1 1/2 inches. Drop at heel: 2 3/8 inches. Weight: 7 pounds 3 ounces.Condition: Good to very good. Barrels show a silver brown finish with slight dents at muzzle. Bright bores. Action shows a silver gray patina. Action/barrels show looseness. Stock shows a repaired crack at the grip and numerous nicks, scratches and impression. Triggerguard is bent out of round. Buttplate shows insect damage and a crack. Fore-end shows losses to the edges. >
