First edition, signed by Walker Percy. Octavo. 338 pages.

Publisher's yellow buckram with black lettering on the spine. Fine original illustrated dust jacket. A fine unread copy of an exceptional work. Signed on the title page by Walker Percy, who was given the manuscript by the deceased author's mother in hopes of having it published posthumously. Toole's seminal work went on to win the the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1981; the book has sold more than 1.5 million copies in 18 languages. Ignatius J. Reilly, Toole's modern-day Quixote, is as unsavory as he is memorable, revealing a deep melancholy beneath a clownish exterior.
