Franklin D. Roosevelt: Typed Letter Signed as New York Governor.
-March 23, 1932. Albany, New York. One page. 8" x 10.5". State of New York letterhead.
-To: J. P. Miller of La Follette, Tennessee.
-Original folds, minor creases and soiling, else near fine.

In this letter to a Southern Democratic supporter, FDR writes (in part): "Thank you for the copy of the La Follette Press. I read with interest of the formation of your local club, and of the part which you played in it. Naturally I deeply appreciate your confidence in me, and your active work on my behalf. Since I cannot write to all of your members personally, will you act for me in extending to them my thanks for their approval and support!"

Franklin D. Roosevelt. Typed Letter Signed. One page 4to, State of New York, Executive Chamber letterhead, March 23, 1932, to Mr. J. P. Miller of La Follette, Tennessee, with underlining written in FDR's own hand, regarding his Tennessee campaign for President of the United States. FDR writes: "My dear Mr. Miller:–/ Thank you for the copy of the La Follette Press. I read with interest of the formation of your local club, and of the part which you played in it. [‘part which you played in it' is underlined by FDR]./ Naturally I deeply appreciate your confidence in me, and your active work on my behalf. Since I cannot write to all of your members personally, will you act for me in extending to them my thanks for their approval and support!/ Yours very sincerely,/ Franklin D. Roosevelt." A terrific letter of thanks to a southern Democratic supporter who was instrumental in organizing the local FDR supporters' club during the period in which he was seeking the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.
