Description
Group of Two Signed Cartes de Visite of Officers of the 46th Illinois Infantry. Both nicely signed by the officers in ink on the front, and both with the backmark of "Washington Gallery/ Vicksburg, Miss." Both bright crisp images in about perfect condition. Both officers served with the regiment throughout its original term of service from December 1861 to December 1864, and were engaged with the regiments at Forts Donelson and Henry, Shiloh, Vicksburg, and numerous other actions. The regiment lost a total of 81 men killed and mortally wounded. A desirable western theater regiment.Auction Info
