Description

Early War Quarter Plate Soft Emulsion Tintype Portrait of a Well-Armed Young Federal Cavalryman. Doubtless western theater, with wide brimmed slouch hat, unpiped shell jacket. Saber belt with rectangular eagle buckle with cross draw holsters on both sides each clearly containing a revolver. Additionally, the soldier holds a M1851 Colt Navy in each hand. There is a small lock of hair, doubtless his, enclosed in the casing. Some scattered bluing typical of these early images, but excellent. Housed in a nice geometric leather case.
