Description

Tipp and Co. (Tippco) Friction-Powered Prime Mover (Zugmachine) With Nine Seated Composition Figures and Searchlight Trailer. Though Tipp and Company's reputation didn't equal that of fellow German toy makers Lineol or Hausser, it is undeniable that they made an interesting and appealing line of tin military vehicles and accessories. This halftrack, 8.5" in length, features a friction mechanism which drives the rear chain treads. The friction mechanism appears to be in working condition. The vehicle is painted in German field gray with decals applied to provide additional detail, such as the vehicle identification number "WL 217". The matching detachable searchlight trailer measures 8.5" in length and features an electric bulb (which could presumable be lit via a battery), traversing wheel, and functioning toolbox lid. The composition figures are of unknown maker and may not be original to the vehicle. Both the halftrack and trailer exhibit modest play wear, otherwise they are in very good condition.
