Description
U.S. Bridesburg Model 1861 Percussion Musket and Bayonet. NVSN, originally .58 caliber, 40-inch round barrel with fixed front sight and single leaf rear sight. Lockplate date not visible and marked U.S. / BRIDESBURG. Walnut stock with three barrel bands, sling swivels, loading rod, and buttplate. Sold with a US marked socket bayonet and partial leather scabbard.Condition: Very good. Metal surfaces with an overall brown patina with pitting on the breech and scattered pitting on the barrel. Stock appears to have been refinished and retains no visible cartouches. Action needs adjustment. Bayonet in good condition with surface rust and pitting on the socket. Scabbard worn and lacking a portion of the tip.
