Description

ISRAELITE. Iron Age II B-C, circa 925-586 BC. Terracotta storage amphora handle with impressed seal. The base of the handle is impressed with a circular seal, 5/8 inches (2 cm) in diameter with a rosette design motif. The design has been identified as belonging to the period when Judah faced invasion threats from the Assyrians and the Neo Babylonian Kingdom under Kings Josiah (circa 641-608 BC) and Jehoiakim (608-598 BC). The total length of the handle is 3 inches (7 cm).
