Pair of Very High Quality Major of Infantry Staff Civil War Shoulder Straps that were also the property of Joseph Nye Bates. 1 13/16" wide, 4 1/2" long. Double gold bullion borders with coiled brass wire around the outside edge. Gold bullion Major's oak leaves on a deep, dark blue velvet background. Each strap with one loose piece of coiled brass wire, else about perfect. Scarce and desirable set of identified Civil War shoulder straps in very fine condition.Auction Info
