Description

"Mercury 13" 1961 Astronaut Candidate Jerrie Cobb Signed Oklahoma First Day Cover with Printed Document Regarding the Program. A 50th Anniversary of Oklahoma Statehood FDC signed in blue felt tip: "Jerrie Cobb". The "Mercury 13" was a group of women selected to undergo physiological screening tests at the same time as the original Mercury Seven astronauts, as part of a private, non-NASA program. Included with this lot is a handsomely printed history of "Women in Space" on parchment-type paper. Very fine.
