Description
Tombstone, Arizona: Two Cochise County Payment Vouchers. Two 7 7/8" x 3 7/8" payment vouchers from the Office Board Supervisors, "Cachise" County, Arizona Territory. One voucher, "No. 728," for $28 payable to "Schoenfeld and Heyman," and dated October 25, 1882, is signed by M. E. Joyce, Chairman of the Board, and Richard Rule, Clerk of the Board. The voucher is signed on the back by J. O. Dunbar, County Treasurer. The voucher was redeemed on July 5, 1883, which is noted in red ink by Benjamin Goodrich, County Treasurer. The other voucher, "No. 2547," for $234 payable to "James Reilly, Esq.," and dated May 17, 1886, is signed by John Montgomery, Chairman of the Board and J. V. Vickers, Clerk of the Board. This voucher is signed on the back by A. J. Ritter, County Treasurer. The voucher was redeemed on June 24, 1887 as noted by an ink stamp. It is signed in red ink by Ritter.These two early business documents from Arizona Territory are in fine condition.
