Lot of Two Pair of Stirrups. Comprising: 1) Pair of U.S. Military steel stirrups. Similar to "Steel artillery stirrup" shown in "Saddles" by Beattie pg. 314. Marked, "U.S./R.I.A./1918/N.S. Tread 1 3/4-inches x 5 1/2-inches. 6-inches high with integral strap loop. 2) Pair of 19th century middle eastern stirrups. Engraved with various mandalas of floral and star forms. 10-inches x 9-inches. Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 40-60% blued finish. The balance a grey patina light surface rust. 2) Fair to good. Engraving largely visible but with heavy age patina and scattered patches of pitting.
