Description

The Captain Alan Bean Hypospherium: Presentation Plaque Celebrating the Dedication from Alan Bean's Personal Collection, with Certificate of Authenticity. An extremely handsome 13" x 10.5" x 0.75" walnut plaque featuring four color photos, created for the dedication at Talcott Mountain Science Center on March 9, 1995. Two of the photos show Bean, one as an astronaut, the other as an artist. Also, two of his Apollo-related paintings are shown. A quote from Bean reads: "I want to create paintings that record mankind's first exploration of another world. Space is our frontier, and beginning its exploration may be our generation's greatest contribution to humanity." The Alan L. Bean Hypospherium is Connecticut's largest teaching planetarium and still functions to inspire "today's children to invent tomorrow." A few very minor scratches, very fine.
