Confederate States CS "Virginia Style" Brass Two-Piece Tongue & Wreath Officer's Model Belt Plate. The relic, excavated Confederate officer's CS two-piece brass beltplate found in the outer defenses of Richmond, Virginia. These trenches and camps were in use during the mid to later part of 1864 and it is thought that this beltplate was lost during that time. For reference: [see Mullinax, Confederate Buckles and Plates, plate 009, page 14. Sold together with Certificate of Authenticity from prior retailer. Condition: Untouched excavated condition with minor soil deposits and age patina present.
