Description
Sharps New Model 1869 Breechloading Carbine. Serial No. C20135, .50-70 caliber, 22-inch round barrel with fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight. Blued barrel and barrel band; case-hardened frame with saddle ring bar. Straight walnut stock and fore-end. Carbine buttplate. Flayderman indicates that less than 500 examples produced. Condition: Very good. Blued parts have a uniform brown patina while 65-70% of the case-hardening remains. Light surface pitting. Stock with only minor wear. Mechanically crisp.
