Ex. Bruce McCandless II
Space Shuttle STS-41-B (Challenger) Flown
Apollo 11 Manned Flight Awareness Medal, Directly from the Personal
Collection of Bruce McCandless II. A 32mm medal with the text
"The Eagle Has Landed/ July 20, 1969" on the obverse above and
below an astronaut and the U.S. flag on the lunar surface. This
medal was minted with flown metal from both the Columbia and
the Eagle, as stated on the reverse. Included is a LOA from
the McCandless estate certifying the medal as flown aboard
McCandless' historic 1984 flight, as well as original letter
addressed to McCandless from when he received the medal from the
Marshall Space Center. Excellent.
