Rare Irish-Marked Brass-Barreled Flintlock Blunderbuss c. 1780. 14 1/2-inch brass barrel with flared cannon muzzle with molded bands. Faceted octagonal breech, the top flat marked: Fermoy/EC-1260 [all guns in Ireland and Scotland made in the last of the 18th century required registration numbers due to laws installed by King George after the Jacobite risings]. Fine steel lock mechanism marked: Hall [possibly John Hall of London or Hall of Hall & Powell, Dublin]. Walnut stock with brass furniture. Replacement ramrod. Condition: Good to very good. Showing age wear and patina. Wood appears to bear an old refinish. Action good. A rare and desirable blunderbuss.
