Description

Harley-Davidson LR-64 Rocket Engine as Used in the AQM-37 Jayhawk Supersonic Target Drone, with Display Base. A rocket engine assembly with overall dimensions of 21" x 10" x 5", mounted on a 16" x 6" wooden base for display. Originally designed by Rocketdyne, Harley-Davidson has manufactured and supplied these to the U.S. Navy since the early 1960s to power target drones used to simulate inbound ICBMs for fleet shoot-down exercises. While not related directly to the manned Space program, this has a lot of display appeal and would certainly be a great item for a Harley motorcycle aficionado. Missing various caps and Booster knob. Also missing bottom booster. Overall fine.
