Apollo 13 Flown University of Wisconsin-Madison Mascot
Embroidered Patch Directly from the Personal Collection of
Mission Commander James Lovell, with Signed Letter of
Certification. A 2.375" x 3.125" patch of the longtime (since
1940) mascot of Lovell's alma mater. James Lovell grew up in
Wisconsin, graduating from high school in Milwaukee and attending
the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Only the second of these
Heritage has offered, a perfect addition to a Badgers fan's
collection. Excellent.Included with this lot is a signed Letter of Certification from Lovell on his company letterhead stating, in full: "I hereby certify that University of Wisconsin mascot emblem was on board the Apollo 13 spacecraft. Apollo 13 perilous flight took off on April 11 and returned safely on April 17, 1970. This emblem was from my personal collection of space artifacts and has been in my possession since the mission."
