NASA Original Voyager 2 Color Transparencies of the Saturnian System, 1981. Four gorgeous 4" x 5" positive transparencies of Saturn's moons, taken in late August 1981. Included are the original NASA press release sheets for each. As follows.
81-HC-534: Tethys from 368,000 miles, taken August 25.
81-HC-538: Mosaic of Enceladus from 74,000 miles.
81-HC-540: Composite of Iapetus from 680,000 miles.
81-HC-676: Titan from 1.4 million miles, taken August 23.
Launched in 1977, Voyager 2 spent twelve years exploring the outer planets in our Solar System- Jupiter (1979), Saturn (1981), Uranus (1986), and Neptune (1989). Thirty-nine years later, it is still functioning as an interstellar mission and is in communication via the Deep Space Network. Excellent.
