Description
Space Shuttle Challenger (STS-7) Flown MS66 NGC Silver Robbins Medallion, Serial Number #3F. A 38mm sterling silver medal that flew aboard the second mission of Challenger with America's first female astronaut Sally Ride aboard. The mission insignia shown on the obverse incorporates the shuttle with seven stars in the background representing the flight sequence and a five-armed symbol at right representing the four man, one woman crew; the crew's surnames are below with the shuttle name above. The reverse duplicates the surnames and shuttle name around with the engraved launch and landing dates at center. The serial number is found on the rim along with the sterling and Robbins hallmarks.
