Description

Ex. Jerry Carr

Apollo 12 VIP Launch Invitation Signed by the Crew for Astronaut Jerry Carr's Mother, Directly from His Family Collection, with Certificate of Authenticity. A colorful 4" x 2.5" card in badge holder with clip; the mission insignia is on the front along with "Kennedy Space Center, NASA." The verso is numbered "No. 210" and signed in facsimile by Kurt H. Debus as KSC Director who states that this is for the bearer's personal use and may be kept as a souvenir afterwards. It is nicely signed on the front in black inks: "Charles Conrad Jr", "Dick Gordon", and "Alan L Bean" who has added: "To Freda Carr-It was a beautiful flight- wish we could have provided better weather for you at launch." Included with this lot is an original 2" Apollo 12 insignia badge and a 4" Lion Brothers embroidered patch. A rare and interesting item, especially with Bean's comments about the weather. As most know, the Saturn V rocket was struck twice by lightning within one minute of launch. Light wear, very good. Button and patch very fine.

Included with this lot is a signed Certificate of Authenticity from Carr's ex-wife JoAnn, reading (in part): "I certify this Apollo 12 VIP Launch Invitation/Viewing Pass, No. 210 was the property of Astronaut Gerald P. Carr. The front of the invitation was signed by the Apollo 12 crew... and personalized to Freda Carr, Gerald Carr's mother..."
