Description
Apollo 9 Flown Heat Shield Plug in Lucite. A 1" diameter x 1.5" section sealed in a Lucite cylinder, 3" in diameter and 4" tall with "APOLLO IX/ MARCH 3-13, 1969/ McDIVITT - SCOTT - SCHWEICKART" engraved on the bottom. Apollo 9 was an important mission; they performed: the first manned flight of a lunar module; the first docking/extraction of a LM; a two-man spacewalk; and the first docking of two manned spacecraft. They also tested various equipment and maneuvers that were critical to the success of the upcoming moon mission. Excellent condition.Auction Info
