Description

Ex. Alan Bean

Apollo 12 Flown Largest-Size American Flag on Crew-Signed Mat, Originally from the Alan Bean Family Collection, in Framed Display. A 16.75" x 11.5" cloth U.S. flag mounted mat on an 18" x 14.5" (sight size) crew-signed presentation with an engraved 4" x 1" plate that states: "Sailed With Yankee Clipper/ And Intrepid To The Ocean Of Storms/ November 1969". Just below the flag are signatures of the entire Apollo 12 crew: "Charles Conrad Jr", "Dick Gordon", and "Alan Bean". Adhered to the flag is a 4" embroidered mission insignia patch manufactured by Dallas Cap & Emblem. According to two separate COAs from the Bean family, the crew patch was also flown on the mission. Framed to an overall 22.5" x 22.25". Affixed to the back of the frame is a sleeve containing the standard paper tag attesting to flight status that typically appears on these displays. These larger flags are quite desirable for their scarcity and display appeal. Two COAs from the Bean family are included with this lot. Fading to signatures, otherwise very fine.
