Description

Apollo 11: Flown Beta Cloth Mission Insignia Signed by Buzz Aldrin on Large Certificate of Authenticity. An historic Beta cloth emblem featuring the official embroidered Apollo 11 mission insignia, an American bald eagle alighting on the lunar surface with Earth visible in the distance. It is signed in blue ink: "Buzz Aldrin" and affixed to a 9.75" x 11.75" certificate stating: "This Beta Emblem Traveled to the Moon with Apollo 11, the First Manned Lunar Landing" above an image of the plaque they left on the moon with the famous words "We came in peace for all mankind." Perfect for display. Excellent.

Beta cloth, a Teflon-coated fiberglass fabric, was developed for fire resistance and used in Apollo mission spacesuits and related materials. A striking signed presentation from the first lunar landing mission, pairing the flown Beta cloth material with Aldrin's autograph, and displaying the iconic Apollo 11 imagery and words that defined the space age. From the Family Collection of Jacques Bracke
